Orland Park, IL - Matthew F. Greenfield, just 17 years old, passed away, leaving his family and community devastated by the loss of such a bright and caring young soul.

The beloved son of Angela and Steven Greenfield, Matthew was a cherished brother to Michael and Mark, a grandson to Linda & Frank Dimperio Sr. and June & Richard Greenfield, and a wonderful nephew and cousin. His Goldendoodle, Bruno, was his best friend and loyal companion.

As a junior at Carl Sandburg High School, Matthew co-owned Greenfield Lawn Care with his brother Michael. Known for his selflessness, positivity, and generosity, Matthew brought joy and light to everyone around him. He was always eager to lend a hand, radiating genuine kindness and love in all he did.

Matthew found pleasure in helping others, enjoyed cooking, and was a beloved helper in the kitchen alongside his mom. He was always there for those in need, displaying a genuine heart and unwavering compassion. His memory will be treasured forever, a beacon of love and kindness that will continue to shine on.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL. The Orland Fire Protection District will pay a tribute at 6 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, preceded by a walk-through by the Orland Fire Protection District at 9:30 a.m.
