Chicago Ridge, Illinois - Michael Edward Krsek, 77, passed away peacefully on his 77th birthday, March 1, 2025. He was the cherished husband of 52 years to Cathleen, and the devoted son of the late Edward and Stella Krsek. Michael was the loving father of Kristin (Paul) Alferink and Kevin (Christie), and the beloved grandfather known as Big Kahuna and Papa K to Chase, Blake, Jack, Carson, and Darcy.

Michael dedicated 43 years of his career to the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. He was a teacher at St. Linus in Oak Lawn and served as the principal of St. Richard in Chicago for 9 years, as well as Queen of Martyrs in Evergreen Park for 16 years until his retirement in 2013.

Known for his love of travel, spending time with his family, and golfing, Michael was a proud achiever of three holes-in-one, a feat he held dear.

Visitation for Michael will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral will take place on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, with services starting at 9:30 a.m. at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge, proceeding to St. Gianna Church (formerly Queen of Martyrs) in Evergreen Park for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The Interment will be held privately.
