She was preceded in death by her parents Concepcion and Severa, as well as her husband J. Jesus Cardenas.
Maria is survived by her children Luciano (Martha), Urbano (Maria Elena), Maria de la luz (Eugenio), Estela (Virgilio), Angelica, Alicia, Roberto (Eduwiges), Jose de Jesus (Maria del Rayo), Ramiro (Adriana), Leopoldo, Maria del Rayo (Gustavo), and Arturo (Isabel).
She was also a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to many, as well as a kind and loving presence to her nieces, nephews, friends, and godchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Sagrada Familia Funeral Home in Burbank.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Parroquia San Juan Bautista in Chicago.
Maria will be laid to rest at Panteón San Pedro Rancho La Luz in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico.
