Christina "Krysia" Mikrut, known for her radiant spirit and ability to make all feel like family, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on May 22, 1959, in Poland, Krysia's laughter-filled journey led her to Chicago, where she crafted a life filled with love, friendship, and cherished moments.

She was described as the embodiment of warmth and generosity, with a smile that could light up the room. Working at General Motors for 31 years, she took pride in her work and the lasting friendships she forged. Retirement didn't slow her down, and she continued to stay connected and active.

Krysia was known for her extraordinary ability to bring people together and make them feel welcome, treating all like family. She leaves behind her loving husband John, siblings, nephews, and extended family.

A visitation and celebration of life is planned for Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. To plant a memorial tree in memory of Krysia, visit the Tree Store.
