Dorothy Jane (Sneller) Assink, affectionately known as "Dot," passed away on March 27, 2025, in Homer Glen, Illinois. She was predeceased by her husband Paul and son Dean, survived by her children Linda, Stephen, Steve, and Kim, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Dorothy was part of a large family where she cultivated her strong work ethic at their farm in Reeman, Michigan. After marrying Paul, they both worked as teachers in Roseland Christian schools and the Chicago Public School system.

Dorothy's dedication continued in the Chicago Southwest Christian School system and beyond retirement in her involvement with World Missions and ESL teaching, forging lifelong friendships. Known for her deep care for others' well-being, Dorothy's son noted her special concern for their souls, evidenced by her fervent prayers. Her impact on numerous lives endures.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on April 16, 2025, in Orland Park, Illinois. Visitation and the Funeral Service will be at Colonial Chapel, followed by private burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Donations to the Chicago Christian Schools Foundation are welcome in her memory.
