Harvey - Jose Rafael Lopez Serrato, aged 77, of Harvey, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Angelina Hernandez, loving children Angel Lopez, Cecilia Lopez, Gerardo (Gloria) Lopez, Angelica Lopez, and Jose Vidal (Karla) Lopez, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jose Rafael was the dear brother of Aurora Lagunas, Concepcion Carbajal, Maria del Refugio Lopez Ramirez, and Maria Lidia Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents Rafael Lopez Zuniga and Maria De Jesus Serrato.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home located at 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) in South Holland, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist/Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Harvey, Illinois. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood.
