James R. "Big Guy" McCarthy, aged 73, peacefully passed away. He was the beloved husband of Kathy McCarthy, nee Gale, and the loving father of Alison and Patrick McCarthy. James was also a proud grandfather to Declan, Isabelle, Charlotte, Caden, Carter, and Nathan. He was the cherished son of the late Charles and Mary McCarthy and dear brother of John, Mary Ann, Maureen, and Joe McCarthy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge. The funeral will take place on Friday at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Oak Lawn, with Mass at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
