Joseph J. LaMantia, born in 1927 and passing away in 2025, was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine LaMantia. He was the son of James LaMantia and Carmella, loving father of Michael, and fur dad to Laddie. He cherished his role as fur grandpa to Tyler and Snickers. Joseph was the brother of the late Rose Garcia and uncle to Robert Garcia, the late Raymond Garcia, and Marlene, and brother-in-law to the late Al Garcia.

Described as an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears, Joseph loved attending silent retreats at Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House in Barrington, Illinois. He also enjoyed bowling, betting on horses, and playing poker with childhood friends. Joseph often reflected on his life, expressing that he had "lived a great life."

Visitation was held on Saturday morning, May 17, 2025, at Becvar & Son Funeral Home in Crestwood. The family requested attendees to dress in Chicago White Sox or Chicago Bears attire. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House were appreciated. Joseph will be deeply missed, leaving behind cherished memories and a love for sports and fellowship.
