Stanley Kanapackis, 85, fondly known as "Stash", passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Kanapackis for 58 years, father of daughters Jill Rector and Wendy English, and grandfather to Jade Rector, Cole English, Owen English, and Nathaniel Rector.

Stanley, originally from Brighton Park, Chicago, co-owned the Stanley Oil Service Station with his late brothers. He held a degree in Mechanical Engineering and proudly served in the United States Army in Kentucky. Known for his exceptional work ethic, Stanley was kind, loyal, and always ready to assist a friend. In retirement, he traveled the world with Shirley, enjoyed new cuisines, and kept busy playing handball, monitoring the stock market, and indulging in his love for tennis, obscure films, and a good glass of wine.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Becvar & Son Funeral Home in Crestwood, with a Funeral Mass at Incarnation Catholic Church the following day. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice are suggested. Stanley's memory will live on as loved ones remember him with laughter and shared mispronunciations, as he would have wanted.

For further information, visit www.becvarfuneralhome.com or call (708) 824-9000. To honor Stanley Kanapackis, floral arrangements can be sent to the family or trees can be planted through the floral store.
