William Richard Baldyga, affectionately known as Bill, Billy, or Billy Boy, passed away at the age of 80 on May 31, 2025. Predeceased by his wife Katherine, sister Beverly, parents Al and Helen Baldyga, and loyal canine companion Buddy, William leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by his son Kurt, daughter Kelly, grandchildren Hannah, Olivia, Haileigh, and Landon, sister Gerri, and a multitude of family and friends.

Renowned for his passion for the outdoors, particularly fishing, and his unwavering support for the Chicago Bears (when they were winning), William held a strong distaste for the Green Bay Packers. His dedication to his work, love for cars, NASCAR, woodworking, Elvis, Gunsmoke, and various favorite snacks like Pinwheels and Thin Mints, showcased his vibrant personality. Embodying an unfiltered honesty, he passed on this trait to his daughter.

A visitation honoring William's life will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Maher Funeral Home in Tinley Park, IL, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service officiated by Deacon Edward Dolan at 7:00 p.m. In recognition of William's love for animals, donations are encouraged to McHenry County Animal Control and Adoption Center or Helping PAWS Animal Shelter.
