John Joseph Fennell, age 76, entered into Eternal Life on June 23, 2025. He was the loving husband of Sue for over 55 years and devoted father to Jennifer, Jason, Katy, and Mark. John was a proud grandfather of Mike, Matt, Tim, Danny, John, Jessica, JP, and Griffin.

He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Betty Fennell, and brother of Chris Treacy and the late Kevin Fennell. John was the fun uncle to many nieces and nephews and cherished by his cousins, neighbors, and friends. He was also a loyal alumnus of Little Flower High School, a dedicated parishioner of St. Denis, a passionate football and baseball coach, a retired Detective with the Chicago Police Department, a member of the Elks Club, and an enthusiastic fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge. The funeral will take place on Monday at St. Terrence Church in Alsip, with Mass scheduled for 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
