UChicago Medicine's psychiatry program earns spot among top 60 by Becker’s Hospital Review

University of Chicago Medicine's psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience department has been recognized as one of 60 great programs by Becker’s Hospital Review. The department offers a comprehensive range of outpatient and inpatient mental health services, including specialized therapy groups for complex issues such as chronic illness and grief.

Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois, serves as the main site for inpatient psychiatric care within the UChicago Medicine health system. The hospital recently expanded its facilities with an $840,000 investment to address increasing community demand.

UChicago Medicine places significant emphasis on psychiatric education through residency and accredited fellowship programs to ensure future professionals are well-trained. The institution has notable partnerships with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and public schools.

Additionally, their "Courage to Quit" program has assisted over 1,000 participants in smoking cessation since 2016. U.S. News & World Report nationally ranks UChicago Medicine's pediatric and adolescent behavioral health services.
