David B. Roman, 78, Police Detective and Vietnam Veteran, Remembered for Service and Love for Outdoors

Mr. David B. Roman, aged 78, a retired Chicago Police detective and U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away in Tinley Park. He was the son of the late Benedict and Elizabeth Roman and the beloved husband of Marie Roman. David was a devoted father to Elizabeth and David, a loving brother, and a dear grandfather to Ryan and Cassy Hellmann. Known for his notable work solving financial crime and burglary cases during his time with CPD, David was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for history, world travel, and various subjects, indulging his love of reading.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friends and family are requested to directly proceed to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Macular Degeneration research, or Breast Cancer research are encouraged.
