Chicago Ridge - Sebastian Diaz, age 5, of Oak Lawn, passed away on July 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved son of Juan and Maria V. (nee Aguirre) and the loving brother of Juan Carlos. Sebastian was the adored grandson of Juan and Amelia Diaz, and Alfredo and Maria Aguirre. He was also the dearest nephew of Adriana (Richard) Calderon, Ernesto (Angel) Aguirre, Lucy (Jose) Vargas, Ana (Miguel) Ruvalcaba, and Angel (Melody) Aguirre. Sebastian was a cherished cousin to Richard Jr., Marissa, Ernesto Jr., Alejandro, Giselle, Alexis, Gali, Sophia, and Ximena.

Sebastian was known for his love of music, art, transformers, and dinosaurs. Despite his battle with cancer, Sebastian was a brave and happy child who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from Curley Funeral Home, located at 6116 W. 111th St. in Chicago Ridge, to St. Linus Church at 10300 Lawler Ave for Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sarcoma Foundation of America (www.curesarcoma.org), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), or any local cancer charity of choice would be appreciated.
