ORLAND PARK - Karen L. Aitchison, a devoted wife, sister, educator, and member of the Order of St. Lazarus, passed away at the age of 80. She was the beloved wife of Ernest E. "Tex" Aitchison and a loving sister to Marilyn Peterson.

Aitchison spent 34 years as a math teacher in District 131 and was recognized for her dedication to her profession. She was also a proud recipient of a Master of Arts in Teaching from Purdue Calumet.

A member of the Order of St. Lazarus, Aitchison touched the lives of many as a teacher, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lawn Funeral Home in Orland Park, with the funeral service to take place on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. The service will be held at St. John’s UCC at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery.
