Frankfort, IL - Theresa A. Sobolewski (née Smyrock), of Frankfort, IL, passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on February 12, 1933, in Chicago, IL, Theresa was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Mary Smyrock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sobolewski, after 14 years of marriage.

Theresa leaves behind a loving family, including her children Jean McLaughlin, Ann McMurray, and the late David and Edward Sobolewski, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is remembered as a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Theresa was a dear sibling to Mary Ann, Sigmund, Charles, and the late Raymond, and an adored aunt to nieces and nephews.

Known for her love of polka dancing, choir singing, crocheting, gardening, caring for birds, grocery shopping, cooking, and baking, Theresa's apple pie and potato salad were legendary among family and friends. Nurturing bonds were created over shared meals and her famous dishes, such as an apple pie, which she prepared with love. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, fostering lasting memories with each moment.

Visitation for Theresa will be held at Krueger Funeral Home in Blue Island, IL, on Friday, September 5th, from 9:00 am until the service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

Theresa A. Sobolewski will be remembered for her love of family, passion for life, and joyful spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.
