James E. "Jim" Altman | Colonial Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory

James E. Altman, 73, of Tinley Park, IL, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. He is survived by his wife Trudy Altman, daughters Kimberly Kaucky, Jennifer Crowl, Susan Davis, grandchildren Kristina, Kyle, Max, Katelyn, Stella, and Joey, as well as his sister Marge Montelongo. Altman was a proud lifelong member of Boilermakers Local One. He enjoyed camping, boating, car shows, and spending time with his family. Known as "the most interesting man in the world" and "Mr. Fix-it," he will be remembered for his knowledge, advice, and wit.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 3-8 p.m., with the Funeral Service on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Colonial Chapel in Orland Park, IL. Express your condolences at colonialchapel.com or by calling 708-532-5400.
