Justice - Leona Dell Kester, a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless generosity, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on August 28, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on March 8, 1934, in Campton, Kentucky, to the late William Bowen and Clemma Mae (Peyton) Long, Leona's life epitomized selflessness and devotion.

Passing away in Bolingbrook, Illinois, Leona's departure marked the end of a life illuminated by warmth and kindness that will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by her grace.

Leona's life was a ode to her passion for gardening, quilting, sewing, canning, and devout reading of the Bible. Her hands crafted a legacy mirrored by her tender faith and deep family values. As a loving matriarch, her family celebrated her nurturing spirit and unwavering Christian beliefs.

Her grandchildren Abigail, Andrew, Jeremy, Josiah, Joel, and Jenna were her greatest treasures, embodying her lifelong dedication to love and family. Leona's influence extended beyond her family as she shone as a Christian pillar, radiating unwavering conviction and spiritual light to all. A life lived in service, her generosity flowed endlessly, enriching lives far and wide.

Describing Leona as faith-filled could not adequately capture her profound connection with her Creator. Her steps mirrored His teachings, her path illuminated by cherished scriptures. She generously touched countless lives, embodying selflessness and showcasing the essence of a life lived for others.

As Leona Dell Kester bids her earthly adieu, her legacy shines brightly. She now joins the heavenly chorus, her voice a harmonious addition to celestial melodies. Whilst we mourn, we rejoice in her encompassing love, faith, and charity guiding us forward. Her memory will be a cherished eternal presence in the garden she tends alongside the angels. In time, we will reunite on the golden shores of eternity, welcomed by Leona, her arms open wide.

Her memory is preserved by three daughters: Ruth Kester of Bolingbrook, IL, Rita and Brad Johnson of Bolingbrook, IL, and Janet and Doug Johnson of Zionsville, PA, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Kester, on September 27, 2000.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium in Justice.
