City of Calumet City Council met Sept. 8

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

A Special Meeting is being called on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. to be held at City Hall at 204 Pulaski Road, Calumet City, IL. To participate in the public comments portion of the meeting, please email your comments to mayorsoffice@calumetcity.org. Please limit your words to 300 words or less. Any public comments must be submitted by 10:00am on Monday, September 8, 2025.

The purpose of the meeting is for consideration of the following matters:

1. Roll Call

2. Public Comment

3. Mayor’s Report

4. Discussion and review of Thursday, September 11, 2025, Regular City Council agenda.

5. Discussion and motion to approve the following action for approval of the construction of three (3) new homes in the 3rd Ward of Calumet City for the following address: 2277 Harding, 2279 Harding and 2281 Harding in the city of Calumet City:

a. Motion to approve the redevelopment agreement between the City of Calumet City and Solomon Estates for the construction of three (3) new homes in the 3rd Ward of Calumet City for the following address: 2277 Harding, 2279 Harding and 2281 Harding in the city of Calumet City

6. SITE PREPARATION FOR THE THREE (3) NEW HOMES IN THE 3RD WARD:

a. Motion to direct the city Treasurer to issue payment in the amount of $129,950.00 to Calumet City Plumbing from the 2023 Bond fund for the site preparation of the houses stated above.

b. Motion to direct the city Treasurer to issue payment in the amount of $85,950.00 to Calumet City Plumbing from the 2023 Bond fund for the site preparation of the houses stated above

c. Motion to direct the city Treasurer to issue payment in the amount of $150,000 to Solomon Estates from the 2023 Bond fund for the site preparation of the houses stated above action on review of 3rd Ward New House construction from 2023 Bond Program.

d. Motion to direct the city Treasurer to issue payment in the amount of $180,000.00 to Burnham Concrete from the 2023 Bond fund for the site preparation of the houses stated above.

e. Motion to direct the city Treasurer to issue payment in the amount of $45,000.00 to Clearwater Plumbing from the 2023 Bond fund for the site preparation of the houses stated above.

7. Discussion and motion to approve an Ordinance Authoring interfund borrowing between the City of Calumet City Corporate Fund and the City of Calumet City 2023 Capital Project Fund.

8. Part and/or all of the meeting may be held in Executive Session on matters on matters pertaining to personnel, litigation, and employment of specific matters qualifying for Executive session, and action on said matters may or may not be taken prior to the conclusion of the meeting.
