Sheila M. Young, 79, Remembered for Loving Family and Sense of Humor

Sheila M Young (Kelly) | Lawn Funeral Home - Orland Park

Sheila M. Young (nee Kelly), 79, passed away on September 6, 2025, at her home in Orland Park, Illinois. She was the 7th child of Timothy and Estelle Kelly, and a graduate of St. Bernard School of Nursing in 1967.

Sheila married Steven J. Young on November 7, 1970, and was a loving mother to Steven, James, and Jeannine. She adored her grandchildren James, Jack, George, Victor, and Kassandra.

Sheila was the beloved sister of Mary, Patricia, Nancy, Rita, Jane, George, and Noreen, and a cherished aunt, cousin, and friend.

A private memorial and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in her honor.

Sheila was known for her wonderful sense of humor and had a specific wish for her passing. Contributions in her memory may be made to Doctors Without Borders or St. Jude’s, causes dear to her heart. Sheila often said, "When I'm gone, play the theme song from Looney Toons ending with 'That's all folks!'"
