Born on November 10, 1936, in Yurecuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, Luis was the beloved son of the late Francisco Zendejas Naranjo and the late Sabina Avila Alvarado. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Genoveva.
Luis was the proud and loving father of eight: Miguel, Rigoberto, Magdalena, Angelina, Pedro, Ramona, Gricelda, and Luis "Güero." He was the cherished grandfather of 25, great-grandfather of 29, and great-great-grandfather of one, leaving behind a beautiful and enduring legacy.
Luis is survived by his beloved sister Magdalena, brothers Jesus, Francisco, and Ana Maria, along with nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his love of music, dance, and his cheerful heart.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, Blue Island, IL. Chapel prayers to be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at Krueger Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at St. Augustine Church, Midlothian, IL at 10:00 AM. Interment at St. Casimir Cemetery. Donations to the family are welcome.
El querido Luis "Lili" Zendejas, de 88 años, de Blue Island, Illinois, y anteriormente de Yurecuaro, Michoacán, México, falleció el 10 de septiembre de 2025, rodeado de su cariñosa familia. Nacido el 10 de noviembre de 1936 en Yurecuaro, Michoacán, México, fue el querido hijo de Francisco Zendejas Naranjo y Sabina Avila Alvarado, ambos fallecidos. Luis, orgulloso y amoroso padre de ocho, abuelo de 25, bisabuelo de 29, y tatarabuelo de uno, deja un hermoso y duradero legado. La visita se llevará a cabo el lunes 15 de septiembre de 2025, de 3:00 P.M. a 8:00 P.M., en la Funeraria Krueger, Blue Island, IL. Rezos en la capilla el martes a las 9:00 A.M. seguidos de misa en la Iglesia San Agustín, Midlothian, IL, a las 10:00 A.M. Interment en el Cementerio St. Casimir. Las donaciones a la familia son bienvenidas.
