Alex M. Waller, 77, Passes Away; Remembered for Dedication to Fermi Lab and Love for Star Trek

Alex M. Waller | Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.c. - Lemont

Alex M. Waller, aged 77, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, September 11, 2025. He was the son of the late Alexander J. (Regina) Waller, and the beloved husband of Janina “Jenny” Waller for 35 years. Alex is survived by his sisters Donna Waller and Darlene Bowes, and many fond cousins.

Alex devoted over 40 years of his career to Fermi Lab as a systems analyst. A graduate of Lewis University with a degree in Physics, Alex was known for his intelligence and passion for Star Trek. He enjoyed playing chess in his free time.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. in Lemont. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Mass at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
