Maxwell Garcia, aged 17, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 15th. He is survived by his parents, Art and Jessica Garcia, his younger brother Sam Garcia, grandparents Holly Conley, Alan Synold, Cecelia & Arturo Garcia, Uncle Mario Garcia (Vince Fattore), Aunt Cheyenne Synold (Jamie Do), and cousins Amelia and Eli among many extended family members.

Maxwell, a lifelong resident of Homewood, was known for his involvement in basketball and baseball, both locally and in Hammonton. He was a full-time student at Prairie State College, where he was pursuing his education. Described as thoughtful, with a quiet yet smart sense of humor, Maxwell touched the lives of many with his presence.

A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood, Illinois. Family and friends can pay their respects from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations and tributes may be made in Maxwell Garcia's memory through the funeral home's website.
