“College Talk” event on April 20 to feature insight from current Lemont seniors

The road to college for Lemont High School students begins as soon as they arrive on campus. In an effort to help students and their families navigate this road, Lemont High School’s Counseling Department will host “The College Talk” at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, in the school’s Board Room.

Lemont caps outstanding season with program bests at IHSA Chess State Finals

Head coach Ken Suslek’s team is a fixture in state finals competition, but his program reached new heights this season. Sparked by freshman triplets who occupy the top three slots in the line-up, Lemont placed 23rd at the 2022 IHSA Chess State Finals, which were contested at the Peoria Civic Center on February 11-12.

Four Lemont football players make college commitments

Four Lemont High School student-athletes have announced their commitments to play college football beginning in Fall 2022. They include Mack Indestad (Eastern Michigan University), Albert Kunickis (Northwestern University), Martin Milan (Aurora University) and Michael Stricker (Olivet Nazarene University).

Lemont’s FBLA chapter racks up 23 top two finishes in regional competition

Lemont High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) placed among the top two in all 23 of its events at the Central Northern Area Conference regional, which was held virtually in January. Students in Lemont’s FBLA chapter were among more than 130 competitors representing eight Chicago-area high schools.

Lemont marching band earns fifth state runner-up finish at Illinois State competition

Lemont High School’s marching band concluded its competition season with an outstanding performance at the Illinois State University Marching Band Championship, which was contested at Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University on October 23.

Lemont boys’ golf squad to make 11th IHSA team state finals appearance

For the first time since 2017, Lemont High School’s boys’ golf team is headed to the state finals. Head coach Mark Hollatz’s squad placed third at the IHSA Brother Rice Sectional on October 4 to secure the program’s 11th team state finals berth.

Tickets available for LHSEF’s “Taste of Lemont” on September 11
