Bvfd Station 1 responded to 488 calls in 2017 - 8.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Bvfd 1 included 99 fires - 66 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 27 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,199,889 in fire loss - or about $12,120 per fire.

The department also received 387 false calls, including 19 malicious calls and 368 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
