Forest Ridge School District 142 students suspended 75 times in a single school year

Forest Ridge School District 142 reported 75 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 75 students during the year. That equates to 4.5 percent of the 1,668 students enrolled.

Of the 62 in-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 62 incidents. For 38 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 13 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 13 incidents. For six incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
