Calumet Public School District 132 students suspended 7 times in a single school year

Calumet Public School District 132 reported seven suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 7 students during the year. That equates to 0.6 percent of the 1,118 students enrolled.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence that caused physical injury. The category includes three incidents. There were two incidents of violence without physical injury. For three incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
