Analysis: Lemont pays $3.11 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lemont FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.1 percent of the $2,024,766 the Lemont FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.11 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lemont contributed $1,521,077 to the fund, which saw a $107,400 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $488,725, or 24.1 percent, in 2018. Another $14,964 came from other unspecified sources.
