SPARTAN GIRLS BOWLER STRANG STARTS STRONG IN SENIOR SEASON
Written by Brian Frangella, OLCHS Staff Writer
The Oak Lawn Community High School girls bowling team enters tournaments all season long, and especially early on in the year, to get a feel for where the team stands in terms of area competition. Senior Cheyene Strang is using these tournaments to show that she fits right in the mix for success with some of the area’s best bowlers.
She had a tenth-place overall finish in the Bremen Holiday Tournament, and she rolled the tenth highest game at the Reavis Rock N Roll Tournament with a 219. However, Strang has been proving she belongs among some of the best in dual meets all season long. She helped lead the Spartans to a tie against South Suburban Conference Red opponent Evergreen Park and a victory against conference rival Richards. She also scored a record high 251 against Hillcrest on the way to a team win.
“Cheyene is having a great start to her senior season of bowling,” said head coach Jen Faro. “We can’t wait to see what she does with the rest of the season.”
