Trolls finish indoor season strong at CCAC Championships

Junior Alyssa Horstman came up with another spectacular performance at the CCAC Indoor Championshionships for Trinity Christian College as the both the men and women competed over two days at Olivet Nazarene. Sophomore Alyssa Busker also came up with a big performance.

The Trinity women finished in sixth place while the men posted an eighth place finish. 

On day one, Busker took home first place in the women's 60 meter dash and earned a fourth place finish in the 200 meter run. Horstman earned an All-Conference nod when she placed third in the women's high jump. In the women's 800 meter run, juniors Chloe Kikstra and Valerie Wellman finished 12th and 13th. In the women's one mile run, senior April Van Ryn earned a 5th place nod (5:29.32) and junior Julie O'Sullivan finished ninth (5:37.88). 

On day one, in the women's 4x800m relay, the Trolls combination of O'Sullivan, Van Ryn, Kikstra and Wellman made it to the podium with a third place time. 

On the men's side, junior Zac Maher finished sixth in the men's one mile run (4:33.97). Other top 10 finishes included senior Dylan Van Denend in the long jump. Van Denend earned 9th place (6.11m). In the triple jump, freshman Kyran Thurmond earned 12th place (12.14m) and Van Denend earned 13th place (11.57m). 

UP NEXT: The Trolls will begin their outdoor season on April 2 at the Benedictine Invite.
