Analysis: Bremen administrators rank 22nd in state for average pay

Administrators in Bremen Community High School District 228 earn an average of $153,173 per year, ranking 22nd out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 14.9 percent higher than in 2016 and 25.7 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 37.6 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Bremen School District in Cook County enrolled 4969 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 113 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
