Trolls drop road game at St. Francis

The Trinity defense held their opponents scoreless through 40 minutes, but a late goal in the first half led to a 3-0 road loss at St. Francis on Saturday afternoon.

The Trolls (1-11-2, 1-8-1 CCAC) held St. Francis (6-6-2, 4-4-1 CCAC) off the scoreboard until the 42nd minute, when the home side broke through for their first goal of the day. The Saints added two more after the halftime break, scoring in the 53rd and 89th minutes. Trinity fired seven shots on goal, including a team-high three from Matt Tamminga, but were out-shot for the match by a 23-11 margin.

Goalkeeper Giorgos Christodoulou recorded nine saves on the day, matching his season high.

Next up for Trinity is a mid-week break before traveling to Roosevelt on Saturday, October 22. The Trolls' matchup in Arlington Heights, Ill. is set for 2:30 p.m.
