Paul German honored by school board. | District 146
The board president of School District 146 inducted two new members to its wall of fame at the school board's Oct. 11 meeting.
“This is a great honor for everybody in the district. It is one of our favorite nights as a board and the inspiration behind those folks that have given their careers and done so much for our district," said Darcy Nendza, board president, Community Consolidated School District 146.
Nendza read resolutions honoring both recipients.
The first honoree was Mary “Tee” O’Malley. She was honored for her career in District 146, beginning in 1978 and working for 34 years. She was a beloved physical education instructor at Fierke Education Center. The resolution credited her for her excellence in education and dedication to creating and maintaining meaningful relationships with students, coworkers, and district families alike.
The second honoree was Paul German. He began working in District 146 in 1978 and retired in June of 2022, giving him 44 years in the district. The resolution said German was a dedicated historian who always made sure that all students, staff, and coworkers were prepared to best educate and learn throughout the district.
He and O’Malley were honored with plaques that were hung on the wall of fame in the building.
