Village of Tinley Park Civil Service Commission met Dec. 2

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Commissioners Present:

Staff Present: 

Hannah Lipman, Assistant Village Manager 

Commissioner Grady called the December 2, 2024, meeting of the Village of Tinley Park Civil Service Commission to order at 10:04 a.m.

Present and responding to roll call were the following:

Members: T. J. Grady, Commissioner

Ranetta Adamovitz, Commissioner

Approval of Minutes

Commissioner Grady made a motion to table the approval of the minutes from the November 18, 2024, monthly meeting; Commissioner Adamovitz seconded.

Roll Call:

• Aye: Commissioner Grady, Commissioner Adamovitz

• Nay: None

Motion carried.

Review of Current Bills

There was one bill included in the packet from First Responders Wellness Center. Commissioner Grady made a motion to approve the bills; Commissioner Adamovitz seconded.

• Aye: Commissioner Grady, Commissioner Adamovitz

• Nay: None

Motion carried.

Old Business

Hannah provided an update on the entry-level testing process, mentioning that revisions to the Rules and Regulations are underway and will soon be ready for review. Commissioner Grady inquired whether any other agencies are using this process, to which Hannah confirmed they are.

New Business –

Patrol Officer

Hannah stated that action needs to be taken on the Lateral Hire Register of March 2024, included in the packet. Commissioner Grady made a motion to appoint one candidate: #23 - Jacob Vinci. This candidate is #2 on the Patrol Officer Register of August 2024; Commissioner Adamovitz seconded.

• Aye: Commissioner Grady, Commissioner Adamovitz

• Nay: None

Motion carried.

Patrol Officer A2

The Patrol Officer Register of August 2024 is now exhausted, and no candidates remain. Commissioner Grady made a motion to strike the August 2024 Patrol Officer Register; Commissioner Adamovitz seconded.

• Aye: Commissioner Grady, Commissioner Adamovitz

• Nay: None

Motion carried.

Lateral Patrol Officer

Hannah stated that action needs to be taken on the Lateral Hire Register of March 2024, included in the packet. Commissioner Grady made a motion to certify two candidates: #24 - Nicholas Dwyer and #25 - Matthew Gedraitis; Commissioner Adamovitz seconded.

• Aye: Commissioner Grady, Commissioner Adamovitz

• Nay: None

Motion carried.

Commissioner Grady made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Commissioner Adamovitz seconded.
