On Friday, March 21, former Thornton Township High School standout Morez Johnson Jr.’s current collegiate team the Illinois Fighting Illini won 86-73 against the Xavier Musketeers in the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship Tournament.

Hosted in Fiserv Forum, this was the first game against the Xavier Musketeers during the championship.

The Illinois Fighting Illini’s next game will take place on Sunday, March 23 at 4:15 p.m. in Fiserv Forum against Kentucky Wildcats.

Morez Johnson Jr.’s hometown is Riverdale and game position is forward.
