Village of Evergreen Park President and Board of Trustees met Aug. 18

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

I. CALL TO ORDER: by Mayor Burke at 6:30 P.M.

II. ROLL CALL: by the Village Clerk.

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: by Trustee Anderson.

IV. OPEN PUBLIC FORUM: Members of the audience are invited to participate. Be prepared to state your name and address, for the record, and please limit your comments to a maximum of 3 minutes.

V. EPPD PROMOTION: Request Board approval from Police Chief Michael Saunders for the following:

A. To consider the authorization of one (1) vacancy for the position of Lieutenant for the Village of Evergreen Park Police Department.

B. To promote Sergeant Victor Watts to the position of Lieutenant.

VI. AWARD PRESENTATION: Annual Independence Day Awards.

VII. TOPICS FOR BOARD DISCUSSION AND ACTION ONLY:

1. Approval of Minutes: July 21, 2025.

2. Six-Month Review – Executive Committee Meeting Minutes.

3. Board action on Resolution(s) NO. 19-2025 & NO. 20-2025.

4. Village Treasurer’s Report for June 2025 for information and file.

5. Board action on Applications for Business Regulation Certificates.

6. Request Board approval for the following Ordinance(s):

A. ORDINANCE NO. 19-2025, “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, ARTICLE IX, MISCELLANEOUS RULES, BY ADDING SECTION 13-358, ELECTRONIC MOTORIZED DEVICES, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF EVERGREEN PARK.” 

B. ORDINANCE NO. 20-2025, “AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SPECIAL SERVICE AREA NO. 3 BY THE VILLAGE OF EVERGREEN PARK FOR LEAD SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR THE AREA EAST OF PULASKI ROAD, SOUTH OF 91ST STREET, WEST OF CENTRAL PARK AVENUE AND NORTH OF 95TH STREET.”

7. Request Board approval for the following Resolutions(s):

A. RESOLUTION 8-2025 “A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR AN OPEN SPACE LAND ACQUISTION AND DEVELOPMENT GRANT AND COMMITMENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS BY THE VILLAGE OF EVERGREEN PARK.”

8. Request Board approval from I.T. Director Tom Mullally to donate twentythree (23) outdated Microsoft Notebooks to the Coast Guard Auxiliary 9th District Western Region.

9. Request Board approval from Fire Chief Corey Hojek to fulfill our contract agreement by releasing our 2016 Wheeled Coach Type III Ford Ambulance #24435 to Fire Service Inc. This vehicle is being released as part of a tradein agreement for our new 2025 Wheeled Coach Ambulance from Fire Service Inc.

10. Request Board approval for the following proclamations:

A. Declaring September, 2025 “National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month”.

B. Declaring the week of September 1-5, 2025 “National Payroll Week”.

11. Department Heads Report(s).

12. Village Engineer’s Report.

13. Village Attorney’s Report.

14. Report on bid openings, bid lettings and disbursements.

15. Miscellaneous correspondence.

16. Request adjournment.

VIII. ADJOURNMENT: The Open Meeting Act provides for public bodies to meet in sessions closed to the public to discuss certain subject matters. No official action can be taken at a closed session; therefore, any decision reached by the Board will be ratified at a subsequent public meeting.

To facilitate closing this building during the continued meetings, we would appreciate your vacating the Council Chambers in a timely fashion.
