Barbara M. Ryan, age 70, beloved wife of John Ryan, devoted mother of James (Eileen) Knightly, Thomas (Kristine) Knightly, and Anne (David) Polo, passed away. She was a proud grandmother of Tommy, Charlie, Jimmy, Mary Kate, Danny, Ryan, Rosie, Annie, Eddie, Jack, Michael, Addie, Ceci, Brendan, Ryan, James, Margo, Maeve, Johnny, and Leo.
Barbara was a dear sister of Nancy (Brooke) Dunn, Marty (Nancy) Herbeck, and the late Charlie Herbeck. She was a dedicated teacher with the Chicago Public Schools and a cherished friend to many.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady at St. Germaine Church in Oak Lawn for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
