Report: Homewood Flossmoor spent $17,840 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Homewood Flossmoor Community High School District 233 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $16,464 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,840 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2795 to 2760.

Homewood Flossmoor's spending in 2016-17 was 38 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
