The district transferred 12 students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 710 students during the year. That equates to 25.7 percent of the 2,760 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for five incidents with violence without physical injury and three incidents with unspecified reasons.
Of the 498 in-school suspensions, 357 were given to boys and 141 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 488 incidents. There were 10 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 324 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 204 out-of-school suspensions, 136 were given to boys and 68 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 134 incidents. There were 53 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 99 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
