Analysis: Homewood Flossmoor administrators rank 17th in state for average pay

Administrators in Homewood Flossmoor Community High School District 233 earn an average of $150,844 per year, ranking 17th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 3.2% higher than in 2014 and 1.6% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 40.6% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Cook County school district enrolled 2814 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 275 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
