Village of South Chicago Heights Board of Trustees met Nov. 19.

Regular meeting was held on Monday, November 18, 2019, at the Village Hall, 3317 Chicago Road, South Chicago Heights, Illinois. Mayor Terry Matthews called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance followed. Mayor Matthews requested the Village Clerk, Catherine Linan, to call the roll. The following were present:

APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES: Trustee Marrufo motioned to approve the Regular Board of Trustee meeting minutes of November 4, 2019, seconded by Trustee Bosco. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:
Ayes: Eugene Fazzini, Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross.
Nays: None.
Abstain: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried 6 to 0.
APPROVAL OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MINUTES: Trustee Marrufo motioned to approve the Committee of the Whole meeting minutes of November 4, 2019, seconded by Trustee Bosco. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:
Ayes: Eugene Fazzini, Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross.
Nays: None.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION: Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller summarized the County vision on Economic Development in South Suburbs. Commissioner Miller summarized the importance of the 2020 Census and the importance of everyone being counted. Mayor Matthews thanked Commissioner Miller for the CDBG Grant funding.
APPROVAL OF BILL LIST: Trustee Bosco motioned to approve the bill list of November 18, 2019, seconded by Trustee Marrufo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:
Ayes: Eugene Fazzini, Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross.

TRUSTEE/COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Trustee Marrufo reminded everyone that our 31st Annual Tree Lighting will be held on November 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Center Trustee Marrufo stated that the Breakfast with Santa will be held on December 7th at 9:30 a.m. for South Chicago Heights residents and their children 11 & under. Trustee Marrufo stated that the last day to register for this event was November 29th
Police Chief Joyce explained that 2 part time officers from the lateral list will be promoted at the first meeting in December.
NEW BUSINESS:
ORDINANCE 2019-ORD-12: AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FOR ALL CORPORATE PURPOSES FOR THE VSCH, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1. 2020 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2020 AND THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2020 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2020: Mayor Matthews presented the ordinance. Trustee Stanton motioned to approve the ordinance, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:
Ayes: Eugene Fazzini, Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross.

ORDINANCE 2019-ORD-13: AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR ALL CORPORATE PURPOSES FOR THE VILLAGE OF SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2020 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2020: Mayor Matthews presented the ordinance. Trustee Bosco motioned to approve the ordinance, seconded by Trustee Marrufo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:

RESOLUTION 2019-R-16: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF SOUTH CHICAGO HEIGHTS. COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN ABATEMENT AGREEMENT WITH JEFF MROZEK FOR 2618 COMMERCIAL: Mayor Matthews presented the resolution. Trustee Stanton motioned to approve the resolution, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. There being no further discussion, the roll call vote being:
Ayes: Eugene Fazzini, Terry Fiorenzo, Eric Stanton, Sally Marrufo, Tracy Bosco, & John Ross.

MAYOR: Mayor Matthews read a thank you card from Joe & Carmen Fika thanking the Mayor and the Board for the Senior Luncheon.

With nothing further to discuss, Trustee Stanton motioned to adjourn the Regular Board of Trustee meeting, seconded by Trustee Fiorenzo. On a voice vote, all ayes, no nays; the motion so ordered. Meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
