Franciscan Health and the Lake County Health Department are collaborating to offer a free outdoor walking program called Path to Wellness this fall in Crown Point, Indiana. The program is scheduled to run on Mondays and Fridays from October 27 through November 21, with each session taking place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration will be available on-site at 9:45 a.m. at the main entrance of the Lake County Health Department, located at 2900 W. 93rd Ave.

If there is inclement weather, the walks will be canceled.

Each event will start with a short informational talk on wellness topics, followed by guided stretching and a walk along the Erie Lackawanna Trail. The program will address subjects such as mindfulness, personal safety in partnership with the Lake County K9 Association, fire safety, pre-diabetes and diabetes prevention and education, cardiovascular health, cancer prevention and early detection, among others.

For additional information or questions, participants can contact Stacy Zembala, Franciscan Health Community Health Improvement Coordinator, at 219-226-3889 or Michelle Arnold, Lake County Health Department Health First Indiana Program Manager, at 219-755-3655.
