William “Bill” Ernest Lichtenstein, 99, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by his children. Born on September 21, 1926, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps after graduating from St. Rita High School. Despite various job opportunities, Bill valued his freedom and enjoyed a diverse career, including working as a salmon fisherman in Alaska. In 1952, he met Patricia Murray, whom he married and had five children with. A proud member of the Tile Layers Union Local 67, Bill retired at 63, maintaining a strong work ethic and craftsmanship throughout his life. He had a passion for motorcycles, especially his award-winning 1931 Ford Victoria, and his love for the open road led to many adventures across the country in his camper and beloved vehicles.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Prayers at 11:15 a.m. at Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, proceeding to St. Michael Church for Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Great Lake Adaptive Sports Association in Lake Forest, IL. Please share memories and stories on Bill’s Tribute Wall to bring comfort to the family.
