Oak Lawn - Barbara A. Johnson, age 92, passed away on October 31, 2025. She was the devoted daughter of the late Bert and Alice and preceded in death by her sister, Doris. Barbara was a dedicated Chicago Public School Teacher and played a significant role in creating and writing the Officer Friendly program for the Chicago Police Department. She was a long-time member and Women's Bible Study leader at Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church in Oak Lawn, IL. Barbara is survived by extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St, Chicago Ridge, on Thursday, November 6, 2025. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Evan Goranson officiating. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be omitted.

Barbara A. Johnson will be fondly remembered for her dedication to teaching, her contributions to the community through the Officer Friendly program, and her leadership in the Women's Bible Study. Her impact on education and community service will be cherished by all those whose lives she touched.
