Report: Chicago Heights spent $13,797 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Chicago Heights School District 170 is up 5 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $13,175 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,797 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3293 to 3233.

Chicago Heights's spending in 2016-17 was 6 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
