Report: Dolton spent $15,724 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Dolton School District 148 is up 12 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $14,056 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,724 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2317 to 2103.

Dolton's spending in 2016-17 was 21 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
