Report: Summit spent $13,103 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Summit School District 104 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $11,544 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,103 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1837 to 1839.

Summit's spending in 2016-17 was 1 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
