Retired Consolidated HSD 230 employee Paris Nikolas-Gulino saved $165,378 toward her pension over 34 years working for public schools, Illinois Teachers' Retirement Fund (TRS) records show.
Over 33 years of retirement, Nikolas-Gulino would collect as much as $5.696 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes South Cook News.
Nikolas-Gulino, 62, who currently lives in Oak Lawn, earned $53,387 in her final year at Consolidated HSD 230.

The projection assumes Nikolas-Gulino will receive $96,313 in her first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.
After three years of retirement, Nikolas-Gulino will have already received $297,694 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of her contributions to the state teachers' pension fund.
ISBE reported that 58.2 percent of Consolidated HSD 230 graduates were deemed "college ready" last year.
