Homewood Flossmoor High School issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Here are five things to know about H-F this week:
#1. Tonight (Monday) is H-F’s Annual College Night from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Fieldhouse! All area high school students are welcome to explore the offerings at nearly 200 colleges and universities — all the way from Alabama A&M to Yale University. #2. It’s officially fall sports post-season! Tickets ($5/person) are now on sale in the Campus Store for Friday night’s IHSA Class 8A playoff all-Vikings matchup of the H-F Vikings vs. the Fremd Vikings at H-F Stadium. Gates will open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. kickoff. Please note: Per IHSA rules, playoff games are by $5 ticketed admission only — no passes or discounts allowed.
#3. Girls Volleyball begins its playoff run with an IHSA Regional match on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Shepard H.S. Led by Head Coach Tony Kruz, the team will face either host Shepard or Washington H.S. The Regional final will be held Thursday night at Shepard.
#4. Girls Swimmers & Divers will participate in the SWSC Championships this weekend at Lockport Township H.S. Divers will compete Friday night, beginning at 5 p.m.; swimmers will compete Saturday at 10 a.m.
#5. Wednesday will be celebrated as Unity Day at H-F, a National Unified Champion School. Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange to show that we are against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. In the evening, the HFPA will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. in the TLC, followed by a special HFU Workshop for Parents: Cybersmarts at 7 p.m. Naperville Police Detective Rich Wistocki will prevent tips on keeping students safe from internet bullies, predators and thieves. All are welcome.
