Report: Hazel Crest spent $15,144 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Hazel Crest School District 152.5 is up 12.6 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $13,450 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $15,144 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 954 to 1027.

Hazel Crest's spending in 2017-18 was 13.5 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
